America’s Test Kitchen Utilizes Rubrik to Accelerate Media Digitization and Unlock Multi-Cloud Data Control with AWS and GCP

America’s Test Kitchen (ATK) is an independent media company behind PBS shows, magazines, podcasts and cookbooks that needed to modernize IT to support fast, digital-first content delivery. Growing NAS multimedia stores, mountains of tape-based backups, and a slow, unreliable recovery process created heavy administrative overhead (5–6 hours/week) and prevented ATK from implementing a hybrid cloud strategy.

ATK deployed Rubrik to protect NAS and virtual workloads, archive seamlessly to AWS and GCP, and use CloudOn for cloud disaster recovery. The result: backup management went from hours to minutes, restores that once took a day now complete in under 10 minutes, and ATK reclaimed 32 days of productivity annually—while eliminating tape, cutting data center footprint by 83% and reducing TCO by about 27% (hundreds of thousands in savings over three years).
