Case Study: U.S. Department of Energy advances energy innovation and sustainability with Rubicon

A Rubicon Case Study

Preview of the U.S. Department of Energy (doe) Case Study

U.S. Department of Energy advances plastics innovation with Rubicon’s waste technology

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) sought to advance energy innovation, improve efficiency, and reduce waste. The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) aimed to fund disruptive research and development to make energy more reliable and affordable, with initiatives like the Plastics Innovation Challenge to address plastic waste.

Rubicon's mission to end waste through technology provided a foundational perspective for a former employee who later joined the DOE. The experience gained at Rubicon, including seeing its technology optimize hauler routes and improve recycling efficiency, directly informed the approach to developing and scaling innovative, sustainable technologies at the federal level, supporting the DOE's goals of bolstering American competitiveness and reducing environmental impact.
