Natural Upcycling - Customer Case Study

Natural Upcycling, headquartered in Linwood, New York, is a regional food scraps and organics collection company serving commercial businesses across several northeastern and mid-Atlantic states. Its challenge was to efficiently divert large volumes of food waste from landfills while helping customers meet sustainability goals and reduce emissions. Rubicon partnered with Natural Upcycling to support this organics hauling and recycling mission.

With Rubicon’s support, Natural Upcycling collected 32- and 64-gallon food waste totes and directed most of the material to anaerobic digestion or compost, following the EPA Food Recovery Hierarchy. The collaboration helped the company recycle more than 10 million pounds of food scraps per month on average, while strengthening customer sustainability outcomes and building a long-term value chain for food waste.
