Davaco diverts 161 tons of metal with Rubicon

Rubicon worked with Davaco, a leader in high-volume remodels for retail, hospitality, and healthcare, to address the challenge of recycling hard-to-recycle materials collected from a large number of geographically diverse locations. The project involved handling logistical challenges and intellectual property concerns for a multinational chain of coffeehouses.

The solution implemented by Rubicon was an end-to-end sustainability service that directed Davaco's logistics fleet to transport metal fixtures from over 6,700 stores to more than 250 recycling locations. As a result, Rubicon helped Davaco keep 161 tons of metal out of landfills and diverted it into recycling streams. Furthermore, the rebates from the recycled fixtures were donated to nonprofit organizations supporting veterans.
