Ruan, a Des Moines–based integrated logistics provider with decades of transportation experience, was selected by the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division (ABD) after an RFP seeking a partner to serve customers, reduce risk, build flexibility and scale, and maximize profit. ABD needed a provider to manage distribution to more than 1,500 locations and roughly 2,300 SKUs while delivering high service and safety standards.

Ruan began dedicated contract transportation and value-added warehousing operations on April 15, 2019, hiring drivers and warehouse staff and taking responsibility for fleet management, training, technology, compliance, and maintenance. The partnership gave ABD improved operational capacity and service reliability, allowing the agency to focus on governance while Ruan delivers scalable, safe, and cost-effective supply chain management.
