Wi-Tronix provides wireless monitoring and data services for high-value mobile assets such as trucks, locomotives, industrial equipment, and marine vessels. The company needed a reliable data distribution solution for its Wi-Tracker and Wi-DownloadER products so it could remotely monitor dispersed assets, exchange data over wireless networks, and support real-time oversight of location, fuel history, utilization, and operating characteristics.

RTI provided Connext DDS, a standards-based middleware platform for real-time data distribution across distributed systems. With RTI, Wi-Tronix could move data quickly and reliably between mobile assets and central systems without building and maintaining its own custom middleware, improving scalability, performance, and reliability across a network spanning thousands of miles. The solution helped Wi-Tronix add new features and focus on data collection and system integration while supporting fleets with dozens or even hundreds of assets.
