Roundtable Analytics helps emergency departments make better operational decisions in an environment where patients, providers, procedures and physical resources interact in complex, rapidly changing ways. Faced with the need to identify changes that reduce wait times and improve care—but without expecting clinical leaders to be programmers or simulation experts—Roundtable sought a way to make rigorous computer simulation accessible to frontline stakeholders.

They built the Emergency Department Solutions Suite entirely in R using RStudio, Shiny and Shiny Server Pro, letting users simulate staffing, bed allocation, lab turnaround and other variables and automatically evaluate thousands of strategies. The interactive apps surface clear KPIs (for example, door-to-provider times and LWBS rates) so teams can choose options that speed patient flow, cut waste and improve both clinical and business outcomes.
