United States Agency for International Development engaged Resource Innovations to accelerate India’s transition to a high‑performing, low‑emissions, and energy‑secure economy through the PACE‑D (Partnership to Advance Clean Energy Deployment) technical assistance program. The challenge was to scale and commercialize energy‑efficiency, smart‑grid, and renewable technologies, strengthen supply‑side efficiency and GHG mitigation, and align regulators, utilities, and private stakeholders across India.

Resource Innovations provided targeted technical assistance — workshops, white papers, technical specifications for smart‑grid interoperability and M&V, stakeholder engagement, and a 10‑day study tour — to build regulatory capacity and market pathways. The engagement produced concrete deliverables (technical specs, training events, and the study tour) and strengthened coordination and market readiness, enabling public and private partners under USAID’s PACE‑D platform to test, validate, and commercialize low‑carbon technologies.
