JEA Uses Energy Efficiency To Meet Demand For Low-Cost, Reliable Electric Service

JEA of Jacksonville, FL, the seventh-largest municipal electric utility in the U.S., needed a low-cost, reliable way to deliver energy efficiency to a diverse mix of commercial and industrial customers while keeping administrative expenses down. Resource Innovations was engaged to design and implement an InvestSmart-style suite—including a Small Business Direct Install program—using a turnkey approach and business process management software (iEnergy®) to support outreach, on-site assessments and rebate processing.

Resource Innovations delivered full-service program design, trade-ally recruitment and training, on-site installations, and centralized tracking/reporting, leveraging local trade allies to reduce admin costs. The program ran under budget for administration, exceeded first-year energy savings targets by more than 30%, processed over 500 incentive applications and achieved nearly 4,600 MWh of savings, with participants reporting very high satisfaction with the Resource Innovations-managed program.
