Energizing Wisconsin Focus on Energy's E-Commerce Triumphs and Evolution

FOCUS ON ENERGY, Wisconsin’s statewide energy efficiency and renewable program, needed to scale digital engagement and e-commerce to distribute incentives and products, expand reach across diverse communities, and adapt rapidly during the COVID-19 shift away from in-person events. Resource Innovations’ E-Commerce practice (formerly TechniArt) began supporting Focus on Energy in 2017, piloting pop-up retail and digital promotions that evolved into a dedicated direct-to-customer program.

Resource Innovations built and operates the Energy-Saving Packs order site, an online marketplace, virtual pop-up storefronts, sweepstakes/contests, and targeted storefronts (including a Spanish page, food bank bulk LED site, and propane customer storefront), continually refining the platform. The results include nearly 600,000 orders processed since 2019 with a 44% conversion rate and a 9.5 customer satisfaction rating for Energy-Saving Packs, 60,000+ smart thermostats sold through the marketplace with a 6% conversion rate, and 130+ virtual pop-up events with ~80 partner businesses—clear, measurable impact driven by Resource Innovations.
