NamWater secures 40,000 m3/day water supply with RSK Group

The Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) faced a critical challenge with its ageing and over-capacity water supply schemes for Rundu and surrounding communities. To secure a reliable water supply until 2037, they engaged vendor RSK Group, whose company Nicholas O’Dwyer provided comprehensive engineering consultancy services to design and supervise the construction of a major new water treatment plant and associated infrastructure.

RSK Group's Nicholas O’Dwyer designed a future-ready solution, including a 40,000 m3/day treatment plant and a robust abstraction system on the Okavango River, planning for potential future capacity upgrades. Despite construction delays from high river levels, the project is on track, with major structural components over halfway complete. The new scheme will ensure water security for the region and reliably meet the projected 2037 demand.
