A RSA Security Case Study
DZ Bank and Hong Leong Bank faced different but related security challenges. DZ Bank, which serves cooperative banks across Germany, had security organized in siloes with no central view for management or compliance and needed a unified approach. Hong Leong Bank in Malaysia relied on a static anti-fraud platform that couldn’t adapt to individual user behavior; as a digital-banking-focused institution, it prioritized stronger, more responsive fraud detection to protect customers and its reputation.
Both banks implemented RSA solutions to address these gaps. DZ Bank used RSA Archer to centralize processes, cutting business-continuity plan creation from three months to minutes and enabling rapid mitigation of incidents (for example, a water-supply failure) in minutes. Hong Leong deployed RSA Adaptive Authentication, the RSA Risk Engine and RSA FraudAction to profile and learn user behavior, improve detection while reducing false positives, block real fraud attempts, streamline 24/7 monitoring with a smaller team, and expand into biometric authentication.
