Superfulfillment Solution Powers Internal Access and Ordering

Large National Mutual Fund Company was handling all digital print and fulfillment internally, but wanted to eliminate its warehouse and connect ordering to its existing, outdated mainframe system. The company also lacked documentation and built-in rules for state-level and firm requirements, and needed a solution delivered in just 90-120 days. RR Donnelley, through its Veritas unit, was brought in to help build a superfulfillment and web-to-print ordering environment.

RR Donnelley’s Veritas team created custom rules for 400 document types, built an integration to extract orders from the legacy system, and launched a broker dealer web portal with SSO and an on-demand “Book Builder” tool for personalized pitch books. The solution supported same-day printing and shipping for orders placed by 3 PM CST, online reporting, and automated top-10 reports, while order volume grew nearly 30% from 19,199 in 2013 to 24,847 in 2016. The mutual fund company also moved fully away from its internal print shop, driving major cost savings.
