QSR Chain Saves on Resources with New Materials Distribution Technology

National Quick Service Restaurant Chain, a national quick service restaurant operator with more than 2,400 locations across 18 states, was facing major materials-management challenges as it shifted from mostly company-owned stores to franchise operations. Working with multiple vendors for signage and other materials created inconsistent deliveries, storage problems, color and quality variations, and difficulty managing the right quantities for each store. RR Donnelley helped address these issues with its store profiling and materials distribution capabilities.

RR Donnelley implemented its proprietary ISM Store Profiling System to precisely tailor materials by store location, centralize ordering and reporting, and schedule deliveries more effectively. The solution streamlined rollouts, reduced loss and overage, and improved fulfillment accuracy, resulting in average annual savings of more than $1M, a drop in obsolescence and overage to 3-5% from 10-15%, and lower costs through reduced reliance on offset printing versus screen printing.
