A RR Donnelley Case Study
A large non-profit healthcare organization with five citywide hospitals needed a simpler way to manage “COVID SCREENED FOR ENTRY” visitor labels. The organization was using seven different colored labels—one for each day of the week—which created inventory, ordering, and workspace challenges at every entry station, especially with uneven daily visitor volume and labels that did not adhere securely to clothing. RR Donnelley (RRD) was brought in to help streamline the process.
RR Donnelley developed a single user-friendly label featuring seven color blocks, each tied to a day of the week, so staff could simply circle the correct day before issuing it. RRD also recommended an improved adhesive to better secure the label to clothing. The result was a simpler, more efficient labeling process that reduced inventory and usage complexity while supporting health and safety across the hospital system.
