The Largest Pharmacy Benefits Company worked with RR Donnelley to address growing complexity in its EOB and billing operations as CMS regulations changed. The program handled more than 40,000 printed bills and 600,000 explanations of benefits each month across 19 companies, and the customer needed support for piece-level tracking, multilingual and Braille formats, and electronic EOBs to reduce printing costs.

RR Donnelley’s Healthcare Solutions team implemented document creation, language translation, alternate formats, and digital delivery capabilities to keep the program compliant and scalable. The result was a fast launch with more than $200,000 in annual postage savings at first, later growing to over $1 million annually as volume nearly quadrupled to more than 3,000,000 pieces per month, while also adding inserts to support member wellness initiatives.
