Consultative Assessment Process Finds Nearly $1M in Savings

A large non-profit educational organization, serving nearly 16,000 membership clubs and 350,000 members in more than 140 countries, needed to reduce costs and support growth by outsourcing its in-house print production, procurement, fulfillment, and distribution operations. Vendor RR Donnelley (RRD) was brought in to assess the organization’s print and fulfillment environment and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and lower spend.

RR Donnelley conducted a consultative assessment of workflows, inventory, labor, logistics, and cost structures, then helped build an implementation roadmap for moving work into RRD facilities. The engagement identified nearly $1 million in first-year savings, or about 17% of approximately $6 million in current spend, including projected annual savings of 28% in warehousing and fulfillment, 15% in print production, and additional savings in item cost and logistics.
