Canadian Malartic Mine Optimiser their inventory levels with IMAFS

Mine Canadian Malartic, one of Canada’s largest gold mines, faced rising inventory levels and frequent stockouts after start-up—managing Min/Max manually across ~16,000 items with no initial spare-parts history. To improve service levels and reduce excessive stock investments, the mine engaged RPMGlobal and its IMAFS cloud inventory optimisation software to modernise inventory management.

RPMGlobal implemented IMAFS (integrated with the mine’s Guide TI system) to reclassify items, compute monthly supplier lead times, demand forecasts and optimal Min/Max parameters, and provide dashboards and exception reports. As a result, Mine Canadian Malartic eliminated 78% of stockouts for high-usage items, reduced stockouts for critical components by 45%, and cut inventory levels by 14% for items managed by IMAFS, while achieving targeted service levels.
