Arianne Phosphate optimises haulage routes with HAULSIM

Arianne Phosphate, a Toronto Stock Exchange‑listed developer of the Lac à Paul phosphate project in Quebec, needed an advanced haulage modelling tool during its critical engineering study to move beyond “rule of thumb” cycle estimates and evaluate multiple mine‑to‑port haul scenarios. The company selected HAULSIM from RPMGlobal to dynamically simulate equipment interactions, road designs, fleet sizing and equipment performance for the 240 km off‑road haul corridor.

RPMGlobal implemented HAULSIM’s 3‑D discrete‑event digital twin and, within weeks, Arianne Phosphate modelled numerous “what‑if” scenarios to quantify impacts and guide capital decisions. Results showed a road configuration with sidings every 5 km produced the best travel times, single‑lane and 40 km spacing performed similarly due to truck bunching, and 5 km vs 10 km siding spacing was nearly equivalent when combining OPEX and CAPEX — leading Arianne Phosphate to invest in strategically placed sidings to improve throughput, safety and asset value with confidence.
