Turks & Caicos Islands Utility modernizes power grid with RoviSys and 1.4 km of redundant fiber

The Turks & Caicos Islands Utility, the sole power producer for the islands, faced increasing operational risks from its outdated and fragmented control system and OT network. The legacy infrastructure had single points of failure, leading to more frequent equipment issues and outages that threatened the reliability of power for residents and tourists. The utility partnered with RoviSys to design and implement a comprehensive modernization solution to achieve a resilient, fault-tolerant platform.

RoviSys delivered a fully integrated upgrade, replacing the legacy network with a redundant fiber-optic architecture and migrating the SCADA system to AVEVA System Platform. This eliminated single points of failure and provided automatic failover. The new system's resilience was proven when it operated without interruption during Hurricane Irma. The successful project established a stable foundation for future growth and led to a long-term partnership, with RoviSys providing ongoing guidance and support for the utility's continuous improvement.
