St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center cuts utility costs by $1 million with RoviSys

St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center faced a major challenge during a $220 million expansion when its energy demands were projected to exceed the local grid's capacity. Seeking a sustainable alternative to a costly grid upgrade, the hospital partnered with RoviSys to find a solution that would improve reliability and lower emissions.

RoviSys designed and commissioned a microgrid control system to manage a new cogeneration (CHP) plant. This solution allowed the hospital to generate its own power and steam, resulting in significantly improved reliability, a reduction of 11,676 tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year, and approximately $1 million in annual utility savings.
