Global Biopharma Company connects nearly 20 vendors to PI Historian with RoviSys

A global biopharma company sought to transition its Singapore production facility from manual, paper-based data logging to a paperless system. The challenge involved aggregating data from nearly twenty different vendors' instruments and seamlessly connecting it to their PI Historian and Manufacturing Execution System (MES). They approached RoviSys for its automation and integration expertise to solve this complex connectivity problem.

RoviSys implemented a solution using Lantronix xDirect converters to create Ethernet-based connections and a Kepware OPC server to handle multiple communication protocols for smooth data transmission to the PI Historian. A team of two engineers configured the system and built PI Vision displays for data visualization. As a result, RoviSys created a seamless data flow into a comprehensive data lake, enabling the MES to access essential data effortlessly and providing users with a real-time view of operations for quick troubleshooting. Following the project's success, the client continues to rely on RoviSys for ongoing support and system expansion.
