Case Study: ATI advances manufacturing with RoviSys and Siemens PCS 7 integration

A RoviSys Case Study

Preview of the ATI Case Study

ATI integrates Siemens PCS 7 with RoviSys across 3,500 hard I/O and 2,500 soft I/O

ATI, a specialty metals manufacturer, built a massive new hot-rolling facility in Pennsylvania and required integration of its building systems including HVAC, lighting, security, and fire alarms. They engaged vendor RoviSys Building Technologies to implement a solution using the Siemens PCS 7 distributed control system as the master platform to unify these diverse subsystems.

RoviSys designed and configured the Siemens PCS 7 system to integrate over 3,500 hard I/O points and network seven PLCs, creating custom interfaces for various protocols. Their work provided a seamless, industrial-grade building automation system that met all control standards for the advanced facility. The result was a unified, reliable building services system that supports one of the world's most powerful hot-rolling plants.
