PSE&G, New Jersey's largest utility, faced the challenge of optimizing manual and automated meter reading (AMR) routes for its 3.9 million gas and electric meters across a 2,600 square mile territory. Their outdated manual routing process, which involved sketching routes with highlighters, was inefficient. RouteSmart's solution was deployed in two phases: first to consolidate all routes statewide, and then to shift customer cycle days for further efficiency.
