PlanetAid, a non-profit that collects and recycles clothing and textiles from yellow donation bins across the United States, faced inefficient routing for a fleet of more than 100 vehicles whose drivers typically handled 20–30 stops per day. To address wasted driving time and poor stop sequencing, PlanetAid adopted RouteSavvy’s online route planner and route optimization tools.

RouteSavvy implemented an easy-to-use online route planning solution (with features like creating multiple routes and saving project files) that is used daily by multiple route planners and dispatchers and offers a familiar interface for former MapPoint users. As a result, RouteSavvy helped PlanetAid save an average of 2 hours per driver per day, cutting time, labor, and fuel costs and enabling more efficient servicing of donation bins.
