Preview of the USM Case Study

USM completes a 5-building Facility Condition Assessment pilot with Roth IAMS for $25,000

The University of Mississippi (USM Coastal), a higher education institution, faced challenges addressing its growing deferred capital renewal and maintenance backlog. To tackle this, they partnered with vendor Roth IAMS to conduct a pilot Facility Condition Assessment using Roth IAMS's proprietary SLAM CAP tool on five buildings.

Roth IAMS provided a full inventory of building elements and a forecast of future renewal needs, delivering customized FCA reports with cost tables. The solution equipped USM Coastal with the data and software access needed for informed decision-making, integrating the findings into internal discussions and capital planning. As a result, the university is now reviewing next steps for a portfolio-wide implementation of the program.
