Ontario Universities completes 20% annual FCA coverage with Roth IAMS

The Ontario Universities, facilitated by the OAPPA FCAP Committee, faced a challenge with inconsistent and inaccurate facility condition assessment data from a previous provider, which prevented them from leveraging it effectively. They engaged vendor Roth IAMS to implement a new province-wide assessment program using their SLAM CAP tool and a standardized methodology.

Roth IAMS first salvaged value from the existing dataset by migrating over 200,000 data line items to a new consistent structure. They then began systematically completing new Facility and Infrastructure Condition Assessments for the portfolio. The solution provided the universities with consistent, defensible data, ongoing access to the SLAM CAP system, and additional support for developing capital plans and asset management strategies.
