William Hill, a major UK bookmaker with more than 7,000 employees across 1,400 locations, needed to replace its manual rota process of handwritten, paper-based schedules with a more modern way to plan shifts at scale. The challenge was to improve visibility, consistency, and adaptability while giving colleagues better notice and control over their working lives.

RotaGeek implemented its workforce scheduling solution to digitize rota planning across William Hill’s retail operation. The change delivered clearer communication, more transparency, and advance notice for shifts, and the success rate for getting schedules agreed and communicated well in advance more than trebled. William Hill also expanded RotaGeek into central functions, including offices and call centres, to manage scheduling more effectively.
