Thermo Fisher Scientific partnered with Rossul to reimagine the user interface for their next-generation spectrophotometer. The challenge was to transition from a legacy embedded system with a small screen and physical buttons to a modern desktop application. The new design needed to improve workflow efficiency, ensure measurement integrity for lab technicians and researchers, and support complex hardware configurations, all while operating within the constraints of a dimly lit lab environment.

Rossul designed a modular desktop application that embedded standardized processes into task-oriented workflows to guide users and minimize errors. The solution featured high-contrast visuals for low-light labs and a scalable design system for use across other Thermo Fisher products. The resulting app significantly improved lab productivity, accuracy, and reliability by enforcing best practices and providing clear data visualization.
