Jim Joseph Foundation evaluates 10 programs over 4 years with Rosov Consulting

The Jim Joseph Foundation faced the challenge of evaluating its diverse Professional Development Initiative, which consisted of 10 distinct grantee programs of varying intensity. They commissioned Rosov Consulting, LLC to design a single evaluation instrument that could identify shared outcomes across all programs and understand the experiences and professional growth of the participants.

Rosov Consulting implemented a multi-faceted solution, deploying a participant audit survey, conducting longitudinal clinical interviews, and facilitating a Community of Practice to build consensus. The results showed the programs successfully helped participants become more knowledgeable and accomplished in their professional tasks, with these outcomes proving durable over time. The evaluation also revealed that participants highly valued being socialized into professional communities. The work significantly broadened the Foundation's ambitions for large-scale evaluation, and the instruments developed have since informed other field-wide work.
