From trade fair booth to metaverse: Deutsche Telekom at the Mobile World Congress

Deutsche Telekom, a major telecommunications provider, was seeking to create a hybrid presence for the 2022 Mobile World Congress. Their challenge was to extend their physical trade show experience into a virtual space, making their core message on networks and sustainability tangible for both in-person and remote audiences. They partnered with vendor rooom to utilize their metaverse platform and virtual event services for this digital twin of their booth.

The solution implemented by rooom included a 3D exhibition space, live broadcasts, and customizable avatars for networking. This hybrid approach significantly increased participation, with 590 visitors registering on the platform. Attendees were highly engaged, spending an average of 25 minutes in the 3D space and up to 1.5 hours watching streams. The success of this project with rooom marked an important step toward Deutsche Telekom's corporate metaverse strategy.
