Case Study: Mazda achieves faster, more fuel-efficient transmission design with Romax Technology

A Romax Technology Case Study

Preview of the Mazda Case Study

‘Irreplaceable’ Romax enables innovative transmissions with improved fuel economy and robustness

Mazda, the global automaker headquartered in Hiroshima, needed to speed up design and development while balancing environmental goals with fuel economy, robustness, safety, and performance. Working with Romax Technology, Mazda used Romax software to support increasingly complex, overlapping transmission and powertrain projects and to help meet demanding innovation targets faster.

Romax Technology provided software that enabled fast, accurate analysis across multiple conditions, helping Mazda optimize transmission design, reduce trial builds and experiments, and move closer to Right First TimeTM development. The result was improved development speed, lower costs, greater robustness, and a substantial improvement in fuel economy, particularly through the SKYACTIV transmission project.
