Designing the optimum wind turbine driveline with NFAIC

NFAIC High Precision Transmission Co. needed to quickly build capability in medium-speed compact wind turbine driveline development to win business with a top 5 wind turbine OEM. They faced the challenge of designing a very compact, high-power-density gearbox and driveline with strong robustness, reliability, and efficiency requirements, and used Romax Wind to support the project.

Romax Technology worked with NFAIC from concept through detailed design, manufacturing and assembly support, and testing verification, delivering a complete gearbox design in six months. The resulting 3MW driveline was successfully commissioned and later scaled toward 10MW, with testing showing load sharing factor 14.8% below industry regulation, vibration 28.7% below regulation, and improved contact patterns, helping NFAIC gain market share and strengthen its in-house engineering capability.
