Case Study: Arrival achieves faster electro-mechanical design optimization with Romax Technology

A Romax Technology Case Study

Preview of the Arrival Case Study

Arrival integrates Romax toolchain into their development process for complete system level optimisations

Arrival, a UK-based electric vehicle designer and manufacturer, needed a robust way to design electro-mechanical vehicle units that meet complex criteria. The company faced difficulty understanding the interactions between gearbox and electric motor components while also maintaining strong NVH performance, minimizing transmission noise, and supporting very high-mileage commercial vehicles. To address this, Arrival worked with Romax Technology and integrated the Romax toolchain into its development process.

Romax Technology’s software enabled Arrival to perform system-level optimization, quantify tradeoffs, and iterate through design ideas with greater speed and precision. As a result, Arrival is expanding the number of software users internally and applying the tools in day-to-day engineering work to improve future vehicle designs. While no specific numerical metrics were provided, the case study reports improved development capability, better design iteration, and stronger support for vehicle performance goals.
