Yanbu National Petrochemical Company - Customer Case Study

Yanbu National Petrochemical Company (YANSAB), a Saudi Joint Stock Company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, needed a way to manage engineering data and documents across multiple SmartPlant tools and EPCs in a compliant, integrated environment. Vendor Rolta International was brought in to help configure and implement SmartPlant Foundation as an engineering data and document management system (EDDMS).

Rolta International audited SmartPlant tool data, configured SmartPlant Foundation to YANSAB’s requirements, mapped information exchange between tools, and developed utilities for quality checks and bulk loading of drawings and documents. The project successfully passed FAT, published all TEF and non-TEF data and documents into the system, integrated all engineering tools with SmartPlant Foundation, and improved access to accurate documentation, streamlined procurement, and better alignment between engineering and maintenance operations.
