Sasol, the South Africa-based integrated energy and chemicals company, needed a more controlled and integrated way to manage engineering data and documentation across its EDG project services. Rolta International was brought in to configure and implement SmartPlant Foundation and SmartPlant Instrumentation, along with SmartPlant for Owner Operator, to support central tag allocation and governance of engineering information.

Rolta International configured the SmartPlant Foundation environment to Sasol’s requirements, audited and cleaned SmartPlant data for integration, mapped information exchange across tools, set up workflows and object classifications, and published TEF and non-TEF drawings and documents into the foundation system. The project passed FAT and QC/QA, delivered audit reports and hardware/software guidance, and enabled Sasol to manage all tools data in a single environment—improving access to documentation, streamlining procurement, protecting schedules, and helping bridge engineering and maintenance operations.
