Case Study: GE streamlines SmartPlant workflows with Rolta International

GE, through its GE Infrastructure and GE-Aero Energy operations, needed a technically capable partner to implement complex SmartPlant Workflow processes within Intergraph’s SmartPlant suite. The goal was to support GE’s existing requisition process by deploying workflows in SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) for document handling and approvals.

Rolta International configured and tested three SPF workflows: Plant Setup, P&ID Workflow Creation with CGER loop, and SPI/SPEL Creation with CGER loop. Rolta International also handled requirements analysis, FRS and workflow design, configuration, testing, load-file creation, user manuals, and deployment guidance. The result was an operational workflow process that enabled GE to initiate requisition and approval/change cycles for P&ID and SPI/SPEL documents, ensuring new published documents automatically triggered the appropriate correlation and approval workflow.
