Abu Dhabi Police, the General Directorate responsible for homeland security in Abu Dhabi, needed a way to unify large volumes of geospatial and non-spatial data spread across 18 existing databases and other business systems. With Rolta International, they set out to migrate this information into a single Unified Geospatial Data Model (UGSD) so stakeholders could access a consistent view for better operational decision-making.

Rolta International implemented a flexible UGSD, integrated the various data sources, developed FME scripts to load the data, and used OnPoint™ and iPerspective to provide secure web GIS search, discovery, and web-service delivery. The result was a secure, robust solution that gave Abu Dhabi Police staff unique access to integrated data and improved their ability to make operational decisions.
