American e-Tailer, a U.S. discount retailer, wanted to know whether displaying Rokt’s monetization solution would provide incremental revenue without harming customers’ future purchasing behavior. They engaged Rokt to test the impact of the Rokt widget on downstream visits and orders.
Rokt ran a week-long A/B test with 97,688 desktop users (50% shown the Rokt widget) and tracked behavior for five weeks. The widget had no meaningful negative impact — customers who saw it performed within less than 1% of the control — while Rokt delivered up to a $400 eCPM that was 100% incremental. Measured gains included a $0.39 increase in profit per transaction and only a 0.01% difference in downstream revenue and returning purchasers.
