University of Hamburg Uses PV-WAVE® to Analyze the Evolution of Plastics Materials

The University of Hamburg’s Institute of Technical and Macromolecular Chemistry needed to analyze time-resolved X‑ray scattering images to study how nanoscale hard domains in polymers form and change during processing. To manage and automate large multidimensional image datasets and speed prototyping, the lab adopted PV‑WAVE from Rogue Wave Software as their primary data‑analysis and visualization tool.

Rogue Wave Software’s PV‑WAVE supplied structured data containers, image‑processing routines, visualization and automation that let researchers simulate, pre‑evaluate and animate nanostructure evolution during strain. Using PV‑WAVE they evaluated >60 GB of image data, shortened development cycles, handled extremely large datasets, and produced more than 100 papers and a textbook—demonstrating clear productivity and scientific impact.
