Marquette Medical Systems, a GE Medical Systems Company, develops the MARS 8000 ECG monitoring system that records 24–48 hours of heartbeat data (roughly 100,000 beats/day and ~80 MB per file). Engineers faced the challenge of analyzing massive, variable and noisy signals from multiple sources to detect true irregular heartbeats and present only pertinent events to technicians; their in‑house tools lacked the visualization and numerical power required. To address this, Marquette adopted PV-WAVE from Rogue Wave Software.
Rogue Wave Software delivered PV-WAVE’s visualization, graphics and comprehensive mathematical libraries to enable interactive simulations, plotting and advanced signal processing that filters artifacts and highlights arrhythmias. The solution let engineers run experiments and view results in minutes instead of hours, handle large ECG files effectively, and streamline the creation of accurate reports—speeding development, improving diagnostic review and providing responsive vendor support.
