Polycom, a leader in telepresence, video and voice solutions, faced growing stability and security challenges as its HDX code base expanded with legacy components some 10 years old. To root out hidden defects and improve product reliability, Polycom chose Rogue Wave Software’s Klocwork Insight static code analysis solution for its development teams.

Rogue Wave Software deployed Klocwork Insight on developer desktops and in build integration, enforcing a gate that prevents severity-1 through -5 defects from being checked in and running full-code scans during builds. The rollout (now covering 500 developer desktops) produced measurable benefits for Polycom: significantly fewer service cases and customer call-ins, improved test-cycle stability, faster recovery during new development, and reduced security vulnerabilities such as buffer overflows.
