Case Study: Stockert achieves FDA-ready medical device software quality and faster, safer development with Rogue Wave Software's Klocwork

A Rogue Wave Software Case Study

Preview of the Stockert Case Study

Helping to meet the FDA’s rigorous safety and quality standards for medical electronics

Stockert, a Freiburg-based maker of medical electronic devices, faced the challenge of ensuring their in-house embedded software met rigorous FDA safety and quality standards for mission-critical applications. To gain greater confidence and support FDA validation, Stockert evaluated and selected Klocwork, the static source code analysis solution from Rogue Wave Software (deployed with integration help from partner Emenda), to assess and improve the quality of their C-language code.

Emenda integrated Rogue Wave Software’s Klocwork across Stockert’s toolchain and automated analyses with each build, enabling a seven-developer team to run checks across 17 projects totaling about 300,000 lines of code. Klocwork identified defects such as unreachable code and uninitialized variables, supported architecture and MISRA checks, produced metrics for FDA submission, and significantly reduced code review time—boosting maintainability and giving Stockert greater trust in their software quality.
