A Rogue Wave Software Case Study
Heliocentris, a Berlin-based specialist in autonomous energy supply and efficiency solutions, was developing a scalable Remote Management System to collect and mine large volumes of data from embedded Energy Manager devices. The small development team struggled with slow build and redeploy cycles (deployments ~1:31, total deployment time over five days 9:42:24), which hampered rapid iteration on backend components like byte-stream decoders and Netty/Spring integration. Rogue Wave Software (JRebel) was engaged to address these workflow bottlenecks.
Rogue Wave Software deployed JRebel across the team’s Maven-based builds and IDEs (IntelliJ/Eclipse), enabling hot reloading and artifact generation during builds. The change cut redeploy time from about 1:31 to 0:03, reduced total app refresh time over five days from 9:42:24 to 0:19:12, and delivered more than a 50% time savings in development cycles, eliminating wasted work days and materially speeding debugging and feature iteration.
