The Grand Rapids Association of Realtors sought to bring its flagship property-search site back in‑house while keeping a loyal user base happy after years on an out‑of‑house Windows platform. To achieve this, GRAR adopted Rogue Wave Software’s Zend Server running on IBM i 7.1 (with backend business logic in RPG) and used WordPress as a front‑end CMS.

Rogue Wave Software’s Zend Server enabled a rapid proof‑of‑concept (one day) and quick WordPress deployment (hours), delivering a seamless migration with no downtime, greater scalability, and faster time to production. The new environment drove higher site usage—surpassing one billion properties returned within a year—reduced server sprawl, sped up updates, and earned GRAR the COMMON/IBM 2017 Power Systems Innovation award.
