Ensuring High-Reliability Video Transmission with Static Analysis

Sencore, a provider of signal transmission solutions for TV stations, satellite TV and IPTV, faced the challenge of delivering highly reliable, 24/7 video decoding software built from large, frequently changing C/C++ codebases and many third‑party components. To catch critical defects such as memory leaks, NULL pointer dereferences and concurrency issues before they impact video quality, Sencore replaced its incumbent static analysis tool with Rogue Wave Software’s Klocwork Insight and rolled automated analysis into its development process.

Rogue Wave Software deployed Klocwork Insight on a dedicated server to run nightly analyses across Sencore’s products — encompassing hundreds of thousands of lines of code and about 25 developers — enabling the team to find and fix critical bugs in both in‑house and third‑party code. The transition was seamless, delivered faster web-based review and strong build integration, and its unlimited‑lines licensing provided cost certainty; Sencore reports fewer repeat defects, faster developer ramp‑up, and a clear path to CI integration and deeper security checks.
