Elektrobit - Customer Case Study

Elektrobit, a major supplier of embedded automotive software and components used in millions of vehicles and devices, faced rising safety, security, and reliability demands across large C, C++ and C# codebases. Their challenge was to adopt static code analysis (SCA) that could be trusted by programmers, reduce false positives, and catch defects early in the SDLC — a need they addressed by evaluating tools from Rogue Wave Software and ultimately selecting Klocwork.

Rogue Wave Software’s Klocwork, deployed with integration support from partner Emenda, was rolled out incrementally and tuned against Elektrobit’s multi‑million‑line codebase (2–3M LOC), including complex C++ templates and Visual Studio integration. The implementation delivered low false positive rates, broader team adoption and more effective SCA utilization, reduced unnecessary rework from spurious findings, and exposed global architectural issues that improved product quality — outcomes Elektrobit cites as stable, accepted, and successful with Rogue Wave Software.
