Carlo Gavazzi Automation Relies on PHP & Zend Solutions to Modernize Enterprise Applications

Carlo Gavazzi Automation, a global electronics group with more than 1,100 employees across Europe, North America, and Asia, needed to modernize its legacy 5250 applications and respond faster to growing business requirements that demanded a web infrastructure. The company wanted to keep its existing IBM i-based business logic while finding reliable PHP tools that could integrate cleanly with its i applications. Carlo Gavazzi Automation worked with Rogue Wave Software, using Zend solutions for IBM i.

Rogue Wave Software helped Carlo Gavazzi Automation migrate from ASP to PHP and adopt Zend Server for i, Zend Studio, Zend Framework, and Zend Training. The company said removing the external ASP server improved integration and performance, while PHP and Zend tools reduced development time and gave users a more modern web interface; one programmer was able to build something in 10 days that previously would have taken two months.
