Allied Beverage Builds Award-Winning E-commerce Solution Using Zend Application Development Software on IBM i

Allied Beverage Group, LLC, New Jersey’s largest wine and spirits distributor, faced a fragmented, costly IT environment built on legacy RPG/AS400 systems and needed to centralize and modernize to deliver industry‑leading e‑commerce and mobile capabilities. To avoid reinventing decades of business logic and to gain a cohesive development platform, Allied selected Rogue Wave Software, leveraging the Zend PHP stack on IBM i (Zend Studio, Zend Framework and Zend Server) to drive a new e‑commerce initiative.

Rogue Wave Software helped Allied build eBiz, an integrated web portal with single sign‑on, RoadNet delivery integration, and direct access to RPG business logic. The solution was delivered in about a year, doubled eBiz performance, registered 130+ retailers, enabled 70% of the sales force to use the system, improved real‑time tracking for ~75 trucks per day, reduced operational overhead and won the 2009 IBM COMMON Innovation Award for Best Web Solution.
