Yuhan-Kimberly Migrates Tissue Plant to a Modern DCS

Yuhan-Kimberly, a major tissue and personal hygiene paper manufacturer in Korea, needed to modernize its Kimcheon plant after a legacy Honeywell PlantScape DCS could no longer support growing demand, easy spare parts access, or the added safety and efficiency features the company wanted. The plant also had to complete the migration quickly with no downtime, while improving production consistency and making the system easier to use.

Rockwell Automation implemented the PlantPAx® process automation system on its Integrated Architecture and EtherNet/IP network, combining process control, HMI, and machine safety on a single platform. With the PlantPAx Library of Process Objects and support from Rockwell Automation experts, Yuhan-Kimberly cut implementation time to two months instead of four, reduced spare parts and training costs, and achieved a stable conversion with improved operator usability and better machine safety.
